But my Norwegian is so bad that if you read it, you would fall over laughing, and hurt yourself. So I am writing in English to protect you from injury. :) I am doing restoration of a Hardingfele from about 1860 by Eric Jonson Helland. The fingerboard and string holder are covered with horn, as is usual with these old instruments. There is some horn missing from the string holder. I am trying to match the existing horn, to replace the missing piece. I have tried cow horn and buffalo, and they do not match. I have heard that the original material is goat horn. Black. Can you sell me some goat horn? Maybe you have some horn that is cracked, that you cannot use for a musical instrument? I need only a very small amount of the material.
